LEL Home Services History
LEL Home Services, LLC is a human services organization founded in 1998 by Ms. Edith M. Glover, the mother of an adult son, Lyle, who is challenged with Autism.
The name of the company stands for the first initials of Lena, Edith and Lyle. Lena was Lyle's "granny" who provided many years of love, guidance and care to Lyle.
For 35 years, Ms. Glover pursued her career as a registered nurse. Eventually, Lyle's "granny" was no longer able to provide care to Lyle; therefore, Ms. Glover pursued caregivers from within the traditional provider network only to find there was a shortage of qualified caregivers. As a result, Ms. Glover decided to end her nursing career in 1996 so she could provide the appropriate care for Lyle at home full time. It was at this time that the concept of this organization was born.
As Ms. Glover started caring for Lyle full time, she became aware of a number of other families under the same circumstances and decided that she wanted to help them out with the knowledge that she had gained in this process. Therefore, in March of 2000, Mrs. Glover decided to expand her idea of family supports by becoming certified as a legal entity and as a Medicaid Waiver Provider with the State of Indiana. Her desire is to assist with the support and advocacy needs of families of persons with disabilities through the offering of a blend of services that are family, individual and extended family centered and based upon personal preference and informed choice.
Since the inception of LEL Home Services, LLC, we continuously strive to identify options for services that will continue to improve the lives of the individuals we serve. Currently the agency has added options for State Line Item Funded services, CHOICE services in various counties, and Department of Education Funded Services.
